Hampshire County Youth Chamber Orchestra - Valya Schooling July 6, 2015

Hampshire County Youth Chamber Orchestra

Last night Hampshire County Youth Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Carl Clausen and supported by HCC, came to New Milton at the invitation of Philip Daish-Handy, Artistic Director, Beaulieu Music. The Concert held in St. Mary Magdalene Church was outstanding. The orchestra performed works by Henry Purcell, Felix Medelssohn, a long forgotten Central European composer Jan Kititel Vaclav Kalivoda and Johannes Brahms. Oboe soloist Laura Ware-Heine’s career in music is assured having won a scholarship to study at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. How lucky Claude and I were representing the Mayor at such a top quality event right here in New Milton.

Business visits in New Milton - Valya Schooling July 3, 2015

Business visits in New Milton

On Thursday I had the privilege of visiting two fantastic world class businesses operating in our Town. One in Queensway the other in Milton Business Centre.

‘Space & Solutions Ltd’ in Queensway reported that they have just opened an office in London. Edward Fitzgerald, Production Manager, ‘Offshore Systems’ informed me that they operate throughout the world.

Although both of my visits were unannounced, I was received with the utmost courtesy, I wish both businesses all the very best for the future and a big thank you to them for choosing New Milton for their businesses to prosper in.
