New Milton Town Council is looking to further improve the town’s presence by appointing a
TOWN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
£32,000 pa (pro rata) plus benefits: 30 hours per week
New Milton is a town of some 26,000 inhabitants with its own unique character and identity.
To continue to raise the profile of the town the Town Development Manager will deliver a high quality environment meeting the needs of local businesses, residents and visitors alike.
This position is to act as the springboard building upon the existing business initiatives to ultimately deliver a comprehensive, all-encompassing socio-economic strategy that will meet and surpass the envisaged future profile needs for the Town.
Key deliverables include leading the revitalisation of the Town Centre, of the weekly Street Market, and working with potential new and existing businesses to leverage new employment opportunities.
Establishing strong business relationships with all local and county organisations you will oversee Business Improvement District (BID) proposals to seek and obtain funding and support for initiatives and projects for the Town. Focus will be on delivering pro-active benefits from the improved provision of retail, community, leisure services and re-generation projects.
Ideally you will have a proven track record in the development and delivery of marketing, promotion and public relations initiatives perhaps gained in the retail sector. You will possess outstanding verbal/written presentation skills, an ability to work in a team and be an effective business relationship-builder.
