By recycling we are helping reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill or is incinerated. Sending waste to landfill is becoming ever more expensive due to rising landfill tax and space is quickly running out for new sites. Incineration (burning waste) is an alternative to landfill, but valuable resources are being burned instead of recycled or reused.
