The Barton Luncheon Club This group of volunteers provide up to 60 cooked luncheons 45 weeks of the year for elderly residents of the parish of New Milton The Citizen of the Year award was presented by Cllr Alan O'Sullivan at the Annual Towns Meeting on April 15th 2010.

The yearly Citizen of the Year award aims to recognise outstanding contributions to the community and each year the award is presented by New Milton Town Council to the winner. Nominations can be made online or by post during March 2011.

RULES:

Nominees should reside in the Parish of New Milton and meet one of the following criteria:

1.Has shown service to the community

2.Has shown courage in overcoming/coping with disability and service to the community

3.Demonstrated an act of bravery

4.Shown a helping/caring attitude to someone disadvantaged
