A survey is being distributed to every home in New Milton next week.

You can also complete the survey online at:

Wednesday 22 March

Town Hall, 2 Ashley Road, New Milton, BH25 6AS

Tell us your views

We ALL have the chance to influence future development in the Town and YOUR opinion counts.

The results of this survey will determine the principles and driection of the Neighbourhood Plan for New Milton so it is very important that you, your family and your neighbours take this opportunity to give your views.

In October, 2016 we asked for your hopes and concerns for the future of New Milton – particularly the 930 new homes proposed in the town by New Forest District Council (NFDC)*.

Over 400 responses were received from a wide range of age groups.

The overall message you gave us was that you want New Milton to be a more vibrant town that’s easy to get around, has more affordable homes for younger people and families, and keeps its semi-rural feel.

We now have choices to make about how many new homes there should be and where they should be located. To help us with this, we have three questions to ask you about:

Affordable homes         • Town Centre regeneration

• Locations for new homes

The paper and online survey need to be returned by 24th March 2017

If you do not receive your Survey Form:

Survey forms will also be available from the Town Hall and Library.

News Release – Mayors Charity Ball

The Town Mayor of New Milton, Cllr David E Hawkins, hosted a marvellous charity ball last Saturday, with guests dancing to Zac and the Zeros, and a very well-supported prize raffle.

The success of the evening was thanks to the generosity of 110 paying guests and the fantastic hosting from the Mayor, working hard and having fun at the same time fund-raising for the Pilgrim Bandits Charity.  The party-goers joined in the fun wearing fashion from the 1950/1960’s.  First prize for best dressed couple went to Thelma Keleher and Tom Griffin, who are regular supporters of the Mayors Charity Ball.

Shorefields Holiday Park ensured the smooth running of the function complete with bunting and as usual providing excellent service.

The event raised £ 1,000 with funds coming from tickets, raffle prize sales and money donations on the night.  The Mayor and the Town Council are grateful for all the generous support received from local New Milton individuals and businesses and the wider New Forest community.

CANCELLED – Official Play Park Opening Ceremony February 9, 2017

We are sorry but we have had to cancel the play park opening ceremony originally scheduled for Saturday 18 February 2017 on the Recreation Ground.

This is because the contractors are still working on minor remedial works, such as surfacing and drainage issues following recent inclement weather.

The play park is safe to use and we will shortly be announcing a revised date for the official opening, hopefully at the beginning of April.

Dementia Friendly Allotment February 8, 2017

nm dag logo

New Milton Town Council are proud to be working with the New Milton Dementia Action Group to enable a dementia friendly allotment for our community.   To make this happen we need some willing and able volunteers who are up for the challenge – to help set up the project initially, and/or volunteer at the allotment when it’s operational – hopefully in the spring.    This is an exciting and absolutely fantastic opportunity to assist our community.

New Milton Dementia Action Group want to involve the community and really need willing and able volunteers to achieve their goal this spring.

More importantly they want to know of anybody who would benefit from the allotment, enjoying the outdoor space, fresh air, and being in a social environment.

Please contact Sue Wiffen on tele. 07884 300641 email: or Joanna Hayward on tele. 01425 619120  email:
