Flying the Flags & Floral Tributes

Flying the Flags & Floral Tributes

Following the sad news yesterday of the death of our Queen, we are flying our Union and Town Council flags at half-mast.  The flags are flying at Fawcetts Field entrance, the War Memorial on New Milton Recreation Ground and the Indian Soldiers Memorial at Barton on Sea.

We have been advised that in accordance with Operation London Bridge protocol, the flags should be raised to full mast at the time of the proclamation on Saturday 10 September, expected to be after 11am.

The flags will then be lowered again to half mast on Sunday 11 September at 1pm, remaining at half mast until 8am the day after the funeral.

A Book of Condolences is available to sign at New Milton Town Hall.  Open Monday to Friday from 9am – 4pm.

We will allow floral tributes to be laid at the War Memorial on the Recreation Ground.

Please do not lay flowers at the Indian Soldiers Memorial at Barton on Sea.
