Let the town shine!

Let the town shine!

LET THE TOWN SHINE, its nearly Christmas!!

You may have noticed the Christmas display is now up and ready for illumination!   The switch on is at 5pm on Saturday 25 November, during the Lions festival and carnival parade event.

There have been several improvements made this year:

  • The Holm Oak opposite the Fire Station has had the canopy lights taken down and new ones wrapped around the stems instead. This tree was sustaining such bad weather impact and with a large proportion of canopy overhanging the road, the light strings were often damaged by passing high sided vehicles

  • The Old Milton tree will also have stem wrapped lights from early December.

  • New motifs have been added to columns along Station Road. The new design was added to Old Milton Road last year, so is already integrated.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors, and in particular two town centre businesses new to the display support – BAKE and House of Hair.   Without the contributions from local businesses and organisations, we would not be able to provide the level of display improvements. Hopefully they will again be much admired.
