Allotments
New Milton Town Council has five active allotment sites throughout the town, covering around 120 plots spread across New Milton.
Allotments were introduced in the Parish of New Milton by Lymington Borough Council during World War Two. Subsequently becoming the responsibility of the present Council with the introduction of the New Forest District Council during 1979.
Currently, New Milton Town Council offers a mixture of half and quarter-sized plots located at five individual sites within the Parish, namely Upper Ashley, Middle Ashley and Lower Ashley, Becton Lane and Lymington Road.
Plots are rented by residents to grow their own vegetables, fruit and flowers.
The Council are responsible for collecting the deposits and rents, carrying out inspections and ensuring the plots are actively cultivated and kept in reasonable order.
