War Memorial Recreation Ground
New Milton War Memorial Recreation Ground offers a lovely green space in the centre of town. A variety of play and recreational facilities are available for all ages.
The town’s War Memorial, erected in 1920, takes pride of place in the Recreation Ground and provides a focus for New Milton’s Remembrance ceremonies.
Visitors can read about the history of the recreation ground which is displayed on our heritage information board located near to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Rose Walk.
There are many benches to sit and relax on – look out for colourful benches especially designed to celebrate our local Paralympian gold medallist champions, Alice Tai OBE and Mikey Jones MBE.
Amenities at the Recreation Ground include:
- A play park for children
- A skate park
- An outdoor gym
- Two all-weather surface tennis courts
- Multi-use games area for netball, basketball etc
- Indoor and outdoor bowling greens
- Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Rose Walk
- The Performance Pavilion
- Two table tennis tables
The indoor and outdoor bowling greens each have their own pavilion and social facilities.
Public toilets, provided by New Forest District Council, are available on Old Milton Road.
New Milton’s Town Centre shops and cafés are close by and the train station is just a short walk away.
