Town mayor visits New Milton fire station July 8, 2010

Town Mayor Councillor Janette Duke was invited to visit the New Milton fire station to attend a drill evening on Tuesday 15th June. Councillor Janette Duke said:

A great opportunity to watch a drill to release a ‘casualty’ from a ‘crashed’ vehicle which involved the use of cutting equipment etc. I was incredibly impressed by the professionalism shown by the crew at New Milton who I understand are all retained fire fighters and have other jobs as well as their commitment to protecting the people of New Milton and surrounding areas.

Despite their already heavy commitments they have also offered to give up their time to have the Fire Station open on the afternoon of Sunday 27th June to allow members of the public to learn more about their work in support of our community.

I can assure the people of New Milton that they are in safe hands with an extremely dedicated group of professionals should they ever have to call upon their services.
